Review #1: Special K Nourish™ Dark Chocolate Nut Delight Bar

As I unwrapped this bar it looked quite delicious. It smelled of dark chocolate, which is one of my absolute favorites; however, the ONLY part that is good about this product is the chocolate part.
Biting into it was not so bad. It was the chewing part that started to get weird for me. In my opinion, it became an odd texture that I just was not crazy about. It is like the piece you are chewing in your mouth starts to break apart and it is almost, well, cardboard-like. The taste was just OK. I honestly was not able to finish the whole bar because of the texture while chewing it just turned me off a bit. I hate to give such a negative review, but this product definitely needs some improvement!

Review #2: Special K Nourish™ Lemon Twist Bar

As I unwrapped this bar, it did not look as tasty as the Dark Chocolate Nut Delight one as mentioned above. It had quite a strong lemony smell, which I did not mind too much, because I DO love the smell of lemon and smelling that lemony smell certainly brought me back to the days where I used to love my lemon cakes...
Anyways lol! So my first bite was not too bad, except the lemon taste was kind of, well artificial lemon, which was kind of disgusting for me. As I chewed this bar, it started to have that odd texture again as it broke down into my mouth. For some reason, there is something about the texture of these bars that I am just not crazy about! The lemon flavor as I chewed it became yucky as well. Unfortunately, I was only able to take two bites and I had to throw the rest of it out! This product definitely needs some improvement as well!

Review #3: Special K Nourish™ Cranberry Almond Bar

I unwrapped this bar and was immediately excited to smell it to see if it indeed smelled of cranberry. You can imagine my surprise (and disappointment!) when I smelled nothing, and NO smell of cranberry! I put my disappointment aside though and took my first bite. I was surprised that there was no taste of cranberry either. Instead, it had this artificial fruity, sweet, almost lemony taste to it that was a complete turn-off. As I chewed my first piece of it, I noticed that the texture was a little bit better than the previous two bars. Still, I was not tasting cranberry which made me quite disappointed, as I LOVE cranberry! :) I chewed a second bite and noticed that the cardboard feeling in my mouth was still there, just like with the previous two bars. However, with this bar I gave it a higher rating than the previous two because I could at least stand to eat a few more bites. But I still had to throw it out after four or five bites. It just did not appeal to me. I hate to say this, but if I was starving and there was nothing around to eat but this particular bar? Then yes, I would eat it, of course! BUT if I had another option? I would go with that other option instead. I think this product needs a little tweaking...perhaps make the cranberry flavor stand out more because honestly I am just not tasting it nor smelling it! :(

Review #4: Special K Nourish™ Cinnamon Raisin Pecan Hot Cereal Cup

This is my first time ever trying an oatmeal-type product. It was an overall positive first-time experience, so I am quite happy about that. Anyways, I cooked this hot cereal cup in the bowl with the steeping method, which is the preferred method. Before adding the water, it smelled quite delicious! Even after I added the water it still smelled delicious. The raisins and nuts that come in the packet are fresh and tasty. They do not have an artificial taste either. This oatmeal is not too sweet and not too dull in taste either. I really expected it to be dull in flavor. I am quite pleasantly surprised! The texture is okay, but only because I am not used to oatmeal-type products. I had about 10 bites of it and while chewing it felt like REAL food and no cardboard taste! The portion size is perfect too; not too little and not too much to eat. This is a good product and GREAT for oatmeal lovers! It is also a good choice for breakfast on the go! I would definitely stock up on a these for when I have those days where I just want something quick or I need something fast to go out the door with! :)
P.S. After writing this review, my oatmeal had turned cold and still had this soupy-like texture to it. I decided to experiment and put it in the microwave with no lid on it for about 30 seconds. It turned into this paste-like texture that reminded me of cookie dough or even sticky rice lol! It tasted the same and was nice and hot. So, just a recommendation for those who may not like the soupy-like texture of the oatmeal after completing the steeping method. :)

Review #5: Special K Nourish™ Cranberry Almond Hot Cereal Cup

This hot cereal cup is really good! It smells good while opening it and it smells good after cooking it. I did my own method for cooking it so it would have a thicker texture. The cranberries give the hot cereal just the right amount of sweetness and flavor that it needs; HOWEVER, the nuts I can certainly do without! Instead, I think the fruit packet should just be cranberries lol! So, doubling the cranberries would be nice! :)
The texture as I chew it does not remind me of cardboard. It tastes like real food! There is no dull taste, but seriously just get rid of the nuts lol!
It is quite good and I just about finished the entire portion. It really is a perfect portion and is quite filling as well. Perfect for another on-the-go breakfast when you do not have time to cook and need to get out the door quickly! :)

Review #6: Special K Nourish™ Maple Brown Sugar Crunch Hot Cereal Cup

This hot cereal cup was okay. I enjoyed the other two much more because there was just more to add to it (ex: cranberries, raisins) instead of just the nuts. It smells good before and after cooking. I did the second method (in the microwave, not steeping), stirred it, and then for 20 more seconds in the microwave for a more thicker texture.
My first bite was good! I could taste the maple brown sugar right away. It is not too sweet and there is no dull taste like I was expecting. However, again, I really am not too crazy about the nuts. It does taste good, but it still feels like it is lacking something. I almost wanted to add some raisins to it or something lol! The texture is good and there is no cardboard taste in my mouth while chewing it, so that is a big plus! It also tastes real and not artificial, which is another big plus. The only thing that needs tweaking is to get rid of the nuts and add a fruit, like raisins or something. Other than that, I liked it! :)
